UBS Wins Smithfield Foods Contract!

Newport News, VA - August 20, 2007 - Unity Business Systems has recently been selected to be the provider of workflow and document management technologies for Smithfield Foods. Smithfield was looking for a single vendor to solve two major problems: eliminating paper based business processes and eliminating the mass distribution of paper based reports.
UBS was able to answer this call with a solution consisting of the Laserfiche Document Management system, along with Esker DeliveryWare. These two very powerful and flexible systems allow for the automation and digitization of practically any document-based business process imaginable. Deliveryware’s flexible workflow capabilities, along with Laserfiche’s robust and secure document management platform complement each other well to create a very flexible and elegant end to end solution.
The first project implemented with the system was to eliminate the weekly printing and distribution of production of over 1,000 production reports. These reports have hundreds of recipients so the savings due to electronic distribution of these reports was realized almost immediately. Next on the list are several internal workflow processes, where Esker DeliveryWare will be used to help automate and streamline critical business processes.
