User Training Agenda Description:

Using Laserfiche (Beginner to Intermediate level)

Using Laserfiche 8. Designed for beginning and intermediate users, this course teaches you practical strategies for using Laserfiche more effectively. Specifically, you’ll learn the best methods of organizing, indexing and locating documents in your Laserfiche system, and you’ll develop an in-depth understanding of the tools you can use to add documents and other files to your repository.

The Laserfiche Interface

Folder/Document Browser:

The Laserfiche Folder Browser is the first thing users see when they log in to the system. In this section of the course, you’ll learn how to customize the Browser so that it shows the information that’s most relevant to you. You’ll also learn how to use shortcuts to quickly locate documents, how to efficiently work with documents in the Browser and how to use links and versions to organize documents according to their relationship with each other.

Indexing and Template Design:

Templates are a critical component of a well-designed repository. This section of the course covers best practices in template design and helps you use document metadata more effectively. You’ll also learn how to make the best use of the system’s metadata management tools, such as field-level security and field constraints.

Search and Retrieval:

Laserfiche includes comprehensive search tools that help you quickly locate a document using any piece of information you have. In this section, you’ll learn how to use each of these tools, how to customize searches to best meet your needs and how to save your search results for reporting purposes.

Import and Export:

Laserfiche provides you with multiple methods of capturing documents and distributing the documents that are stored in your repository. This section will teach you best practices for capturing, indexing and filing documents, and how to export documents in a variety of formats.

Document Capture

Laserfiche provides a number of useful ways to capture, index and file documents in the repository. The second half of class will be dedicated to learning how and when to use the different capture tools available.

Snapshot:

Snapshot enables you to quickly save files to your Laserfiche repository from Windows applications. This section will teach you how to use Snapshot’s various features and how to configure Snapshot to best meet your needs.

Scanning Interface:

Laserfiche utilizes an intuitive scanning interface that works with a wide variety of scanners and multi-functional peripherals. In this section, you’ll learn how to fully utilize this interface and its comprehensive image clean-up tools. This section also provides you with an overview of the “basic” version of the interface, which has fewer options and is designed for users who only scan documents on an ad hoc basis.

Quick Fields:

Quick Fields is a powerful tool that enables you to automatically extract data from scanned documents. This section will compare Quick Fields to Laserfiche Scanning, provide a quick demonstration of the product, and cover the core tools that come with Quick Fields.

Cost for the full-day User Training class will be $350/person. Registration is now available.
