Why 99% of Customers Stay with UBS...

by Christine B. Ilardi, June 2007

On a daily basis, the employees of Unity Business Systems (UBS) strive for superior customer service for their many loyal customers in Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and Washington, D.C.  The company’s success has always been directly tied to its ability to serve its customers with the utmost integrity, and always go above and beyond the call of duty.

“Genuine customer service is something we aim to provide on a daily basis because we believe that is what our customers deserve,” said Carl Long, President of UBS.

“Our customers are why we exist,” added Brian Sabin, Vice President of Operations at UBS.  “We don’t like to consider ourselves as just another vendor.  Instead, we consider ourselves to be partners with our customers in solving their document management problems.”

UBS serves customers by providing them with world class solutions and products, and the necessary technical support to maintain the most productive work relationship possible.  The company’s mission statement is, “To honor God by providing our customers with innovative computer solutions with the utmost integrity.”  This mission is very important to each and every staff member at UBS; the corporate values create a culture that enables the company to sustain their success in the document imaging marketplace, and most importantly, with their customers.

“Working with UBS has exceeded our expectations,” said Larry Wagoner, Chief Deputy Commissioner of Revenue with the County of Augusta in Virginia.  “Their implementation of Laserfiche software was very successful; the solutions are easy to use and our staff quickly learned to like it.”

For UBS, positive referrals from current customers are a crucial component of new business opportunities.  Maintaining current customer relations, therefore, is an integral element of how UBS approaches customer service.

“I really like the responsiveness of the technical support representatives,” said Jay Tibbs, Deputy County Administrator with the County of Frederick in Virginia.  “Within a couple of hours, I will either have a solution or at the very least, an acknowledgement that my question has been received and that UBS is working to solve my problem.  I have been extremely pleased with the customer service provided.”

UBS realizes a major part of being successful as a total solution provider is continued customer satisfaction and service after the purchase.  Knowledgeable staff members offer top quality technical assistance through annual support plans; they also take great pride in responding to, and resolving, any technical issues or questions in the timeliest manner possible.

Continuing such a high level of superior customer service is something UBS takes seriously.  UBS is always looking for ways to improve customer service.  The company now offers a survey form on their website for their customers to fill out and provide feedback.

“We measure our accomplishment of our goals on the basis of how satisfied our customers are with the solutions we provide them,” said Long.

Achieving customer service goals is contingent upon many factors, but one thing will always remain of utmost importance to Unity Business Systems:  their customers.
